Boutique Wildlife Tours

Possum at night, Southern Highlands. After dark we bring out the spotlights to reveal the wide range of creatures that roam the dark bush at night. From possums to gliders and wombats, there's always something to see at night.

Much of Australia's unique wildlife is nocturnal, or prevalent during the hours around dusk and dawn. For this reason we've given our 'day tour' a little bit of a twist! We'll collect you from your hotel or a central Sydney location around noon - time varies depending on season, so please check when booking your tour. Drop-off in Sydney will be sometime around 10-11pm depending on the season. This therefore gives us a great chance to see as much wildlife as possible, including those creatures who venture forth at night.

Along the river, dusk is the prime time to see platypus. It's now - and at dawn - that they're most active and therefore most likely to be spotted. Wombats, kangaroos and wallabies also love the dusk hours, venturing out of the bush to feed in the paddocks and clearings.

Armed with spotlights and torches (flashlights) we'll explore the night bush in search of these nocturnal creatures. Sugar-gliders and greater-gliders can be seen hiding amongst the foliage, along with brush-tail and ring-tail possums. Tawny frogmouths (a little like an owl) can be seen blending in with the bark. Wombats, kangaroos and wallabies can be spotted in the bush, along wiht a host of other animals and insects.

We're delighted that travellers often rate our night-spotting adventures a highlight of their trip!
